5 Essential Default iPhone apps

What are your favourite default iPhone apps?

As anyone who owns an iPhone knows that they come shipped with a bunch of default apps.
My question is what is your favourite and why?
Here is a list of default apps – (I might have missed some by mistake but these are the staple ones)

  • Messages
  • Calendar
  • Photos
  • Camera
  • Weather
  • Clock
  • Maps
  • Videos
  • Notes
  • Reminders
  • Stocks
  • Game Center
  • Newsstand
  • iTunes Store
  • App Store
  • iBooks
  • Health
  • Passbook
  • Settings
  • Phone
  • Mail
  • Safari
  • Music
  • Podcasts
  • Voice Memos
  • Tips
  • Apple Watch

I am going to ignore settings because to me they are a function.  I would possibly apply this to Phone and Messages as well.
My personal top 5 would be the following –
Notes – I cannot live without Notes simple.  The reason I love notes so much is that you can use it without any internet or 3/4G.  It’s easy to use and not surprisingly great for making notes for ideas and thoughts.
Reminders – Another great app.  I am a dope, my wife will verify this.  I need reminders constantly.  “Send a letter to …” “Pick up …” You can even set up reminders to alert you depending on your location!
Photos – The photo app comes into its own for the editing features alone.  You can snip and zoom, change colours, touch pictures up.
App Store – Imagine how useless your phone would be without the store?
Weather – Of course you can always just look out the window, but I want to check the weather for the day ahead. Done in seconds flat.
Safari – the built-in web browser is solid, very rarely crashes. It’s as smooth as silk and works better than my laptop browser and also had a private mode for when you want to access websites in secret.  Not sure why you would want to do this?:)
So if you have got this far do you agree with my list? What are your favourites?
